Tracheobronchial foreign body aspiration is an important clinical manifestation which causes fatal hazards and requires emergency action. Rate of mortality due to foreign bodies has been reduced thanks to developments in protection and endoscopic technologies. Foreign body aspiration leads to fatal respiratory failure when it causes nearly total obstruction of trachea. However, a foreign body which advances to lower levels causes deterioration of ventilation and provides a basis for infection.
Despite it is mostly seen in children, pin aspiration may occur as a result of increased use of turban by women in our country and holding pins in their mouths during donning turban.
